Suggenhall Farm Solar
Brockwell Storage & Solar has submitted plans for a 5MW solar project at Suggenhall Farm, near Diss, Suffolk. The site is adjacent to an existing substation providing an ideal connection point to power people's homes with clean, renewable, and cheap electricity. The solar farm will include substantial hedgerow, tree planting, and wilder grassland areas around the perimeter of each field. This will provide a huge boost to local pollinator, bird and small mammal (mice, voles, hedgehog, bat) species populations due to the increased habitat connectivity and additional food sources.
Details of the scheme can be viewed on the Mid Suffolk District Council website at https://planning.baberghmidsuffolk.gov.uk/online-applications/ by typing in project reference DC/21/06825
Sperberry Hill Solar
Brockwell Storage & Solar is also bringing forward plans for a new 25MW solar farm and battery storage facility in North Hertfordshire. The site is strategically located close to the UK Power Networks Wymondley Substation which will be the connection point for the project.
Members of the public are being invited to provide feedback on the proposals through a public consultation which will be held for two and a half weeks between 7th January 2022 to 24th January 2022. A virtual exhibition of the proposals will be available on the dedicated consultation website, www.redcoatsfarmsolar.co.uk, during the consultation period.
